Locus is currently searching for a Data Center Engineer for our client. This is a full time onsite role, 3 month contract to hire. 

Title: Data Center Engineer

Timeline: Need a resource ASAP for active projects that have already been sold. Can interview next week

Process: 2 interviews (hiring manager and team) within the same week then offer

Location: Seattle, Olympia, Portland, or Boise (Open to stud candidates outside of this market if they are willing to travel once month/ every other month)

Work schedule is typically Monday through Friday from 8am to 5pm with the ability to travel 30% of the time during weekdays. Occasional weekend work may be required.

Company is seeking a talented individual for the role of Datacenter and Cloud Engineer. Candidate may report out of any of these office locations: Bellevue, WA, Olympia,WA, Meridian, ID, or Portland,OR.

You will be working on a team of highly skilled consultants across a wide range of disciplines, representing solutions from VMware, Nutanix, Cisco, Pure, HPE Nimble, and more . Your role is to ensure that industry best practices and methodologies are applied to the deployment, integration, and operational support of our customer environments. This role reports to the Director of Datacenter and Cloud.

Duties and Responsibilities

· Build and maintain a deep technical understanding of Datacenter and Cloud technologies and supporting applications

· Lead and participate in detailed and complex customer projects integrating multiple technologies across multiple disciplines as part of a team of engineers

· Work on-site or remotely to diagnose and resolve both emergency and chronic problems related to availability, security, performance, connectivity, and overall functionality of data center technologies

· Attend or participate in various product training sessions and classes in order to broaden your skillset while maintaining company’s vendor relationships

· Meet with customers to discuss and outline new technologies that improve and enhance their current environments

· Other work-related duties as assigned


5+ years of experience in deploying and managing data center technologies

2-5 years of experience deploying or managing VMWare vSphere environments (VCP preferred)

· Storage technology expertise to include:

o Fiber Channel & iSCSI block storage implementation

o Advanced storage technologies and features (replication, snapshots, hypervisor integration, converged infrastructure integration

o NAS deployment capabilities complimentary

· Server technology expertise to include:

o Advanced server deployment methodologies (Blade/Chassis, Converged Infrastructure integration)

o HyperVisor and Operating System deployment and integration

· Data Protection expertise preferred to include:

o Backup application implementation and integration

o Backup appliance implementation and integration

o Converged backup solution implementation and integration

· Microsoft technologies capabilities complementary, to include

o Active Directory & Azure AD

o Azure workloads and migration

o Hyper-V

o InTune/MS Endpoint Manager

o Exchange & O365

· Manufacturer specific expertise desired:

o Cisco

o VMWare

o Microsoft

o Pure Storage

o HPE/Nimble Storage

o Nutanix

o Rubrik

o Veeam

o Cohesity

o HPE, Dell, Cisco Servers

o NetApp

Strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Highly self-motivated, directed and organized with attention to detail and accuracy

Ability to effectively prioritize tasks in a fast-paced scenario

Strong customer service orientation

Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment

Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word)

Experience in CRM databases

Candidate must have a valid Driver’s license
